Procedures for CHANGES IN AN ACADEMIC PROGRAM
University Committee on Curriculum
(Any Undergraduate or Graduate Major or Degree Program)


1. Development, Consideration and Approval by the Unit Proposing the Permanent Change
The instructional unit is responsible for developing the permanent changes in the program.
2. Consideration and Approval of the Dean(s) and College Curriculum Committee(s)
When the instructional unit has completed its development of the request for changes, it must be submitted for consideration and approval by the College Curriculum Committee and the Dean.
3. Consideration and Approval by the Office of the Provost: Send to: Office of Curriculum and Catalog, 176 Administration
After the program has received the approval of the College Curriculum Committee and the Dean, the Office of the Provost must be consulted so that any consideration and tentative approval of the financial needs may be obtained. The program request will be forwarded to the relevant University committees. (#6-10)
4. Consideration and Approval by the University Committee on Academic Policy
Undergraduate and Graduate program changes related to academic policy affecting the University, must be submitted to the University Committee on Academic Policy for consideration and approval.
5. Consideration and Approval by the University Graduate Council
Graduate programs which have the approval of the College Curriculum Committee for academic purposes and the Office of the Provost for tentative financial consideration must be submitted to the University Graduate Council for approval.
6. Consideration and Approval by Teacher Education Council
Teacher education programs must be submitted for consideration and approval by the Teacher Education Council.
7. Consideration and Approval by the University Committee on Curriculum
Undergraduate programs, master's programs, doctoral programs approved by the University Graduate Council, and Teacher Education programs approved by the Teacher Education Council, must be considered and approved by the University Committee on Curriculum.
8. Consideration and Approval by the Academic Council
Programs approved by the University Committee on Curriculum must be submitted for consideration and approval by the Academic Council.
